Outline planning for the 37 Hectare site was received (25th April 2000) for 111,480mē (1,200,000 sq ft) of retail and leisure for Freeport Leisure Plc. RJ McKinney Ltd pre-sold the above site to Freeport Leisure PLC, subject to planning and has retained an interest in the development.
The project will be the largest leisure / Factory Outlet Centre development in Europe.
Detailed approval for the scheme was received on 14th March 2002. The scheme opened in Sept 2004.
