Ballymac Shopping Outlet, Dundalk gets the go ahead - 17th November 2005....
As of the 17th November 2005, the Judicial Review proceedings have been dropped and the project now has planning.
Opening Planned September 2007.
On Wednesday 26th November 2003 our 35 acre site in Dundalk was zoned allowing submission of planning of a detailed planning application for the construction of a 14,200m² gross internal area (12,000m² net retail area).
A planning application for a 15,487m² Factory Outlet with 1240 spaces was presented to Dundalk Town Council on 4th March 2004. (Press Release)
Ballymac confirms 2006 opening as Irish Government backs the scheme
ING Real Estate Development UK and Coverfield Developments Limited have received the full backing of the Irish Government for the 15,487 sq m Ballymac Shopping Outlet in Dundalk, Republic of Ireland. On hearing An Bord Pleanala's decision ING Real Estate has confirmed that Ballymac, which is set to become Ireland's premier fashion destination, will open to the public in September 2006.
The €60m scheme is fully funded by ING Real Estate itself and, with 40% of the space already in legals or under offer, work is expected to start on-site in May.

"Getting national government support for the scheme is great news. Ballymac is such an ideal location adjacent to the new M1 Motorway and half way between Dublin and Belfast. This will be Ireland's largest outlet centre and will offer retailers the chance to exploit both the major markets in the North and the South, as well as the millions of tourists who visit the country."
